Rolling Factory Cart Coffee Table

This guy here is a product of the ongoing collaboration with Kings County Salvage and their Super Curator, Valerie.  The big question with a piece like this is "How much do we clean it up?"  Matching the beams to the existing cart frame is fairly straightforward, but then you have the decision to make as to how Restoration Hardware to go with the wire brush.  One reason I like working with Val is her propensity to let things stay old.  The patina of age can always be stripped off, to an extent, but trying to get something new to look old is...is there a better word than "tacky"? Probably not.

The real kicker on this piece is that the wheels roll "like buttah". I'm trying to rehab an old Herman Miller office chair base that used to roll, and am learning that once they go, they go.

King's County Salvage has this in their store now, going for $385, I believe.
